That was the message on Harlem rap upstart Azealia Banks‘ Twitter today, and there was much rejoicing among the gossip folks. Both parties are working on albums—Missy Elliott is about to release her first album in seven years in partnership with longtime collaborator Timbaland and Banks’ debut for Interscope, Expensive Taste, drops in September. It’s been a busy week for Banks, as she postponed the release of her upcoming EP, 1991, in part due to new resources at her disposal, including Lady Gaga’s manager, Troy Carter, with whom she recently signed. Although it’s not clear where this collaboration will go in terms of recordings for both parties, it should be one to watch for.
Also, any excuse to post “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” is a good one.
